چکیده

Modular Building Systems (MBS) offer numerous benefits in terms of productivity, sustainability and safety. Therefore, MBSs are considered as a viable option to sort out the housing crisis Britain well drive towards sustainable construction. Development materials, manufacturing techniques, connection types structural designs with respect offsite construction is essential achieve goals. Recent advancements steel manufacturing, including Cold-Formed Steel (CFS), have showed potential performance compared concrete timber. Meanwhile, research was conducted enhance capacities CFS sections by introducing different cross-sections, composite techniques optimization. Built-up were developed connecting more than one channel section, various studies assess their performances. However, built-up modular constructions still unknown. Hence, this paper intends develop an MBS using for better performance. Literature review carried on economic, environmental social aspects. In addition that, numerical analysis performed investigate flexural capacity screw arrangements address aspects novel sections. The description, results validations also stated. Numerical revealed that improved up 156% those single Finally, utilization enhancement addressed illustrated conceptual diagram.

Local Buckling Tests on Cold-Formed Steel Beams

C and Z sections are two of the most common cold-formed steel shapes in use today. Accurate prediction of the bending performance of these sections is important for reliable and efficient cold-formed steel structures. Recent analytical work has highlighted discontinuities and inconsistencies in the American Iron and Steel Institute ~AISI! and Canadian Standards Association ~S136! design provisi...

Distortional Buckling Tests on Cold-Formed Steel Beams

Failure in cold-formed steel beams is generally initiated by one of three instabilities: local, distortional, or lateral-torsional buckling. For cold-formed steel joists, purlins, or girts, when the compression flange is not restrained by attachment to sheathing or paneling, distortional buckling may be the predominant failure mode. Experimental results on cold-formed steel beams with unrestrai...

On Cold-Formed Steel Construction

Powder-actuated (also referred to as low velocity or powder-driven) fasteners are commonly used to attach cold-formed steel framing members, usually a track, to a concrete or structural steel support. Although commonly used, their behavior is less well understood than other fasteners such as screws, bolts and welds. The AISI Cold-Formed Steel Design Manual does not explicitly address powder act...

Performance of Stiffened Slender Built up Steel I-Columns

Abstract—The present work illustrates a parametric study for the effect of stiffeners on the performance of slender built up steel Icolumns. To achieve the desired analysis, finite element technique is used to develop nonlinear three-dimensional models representing the investigated columns. The finite element program (ANSYS 13.0) is used as a calculation tool for the necessary nonlinear analysi...

OPTIMAL PERFORMANCE-BASED SEISMIC DESIGN OF COMPOSITE BUILDING FRAMES WITH RC COLUMNS AND STEEL BEAMS

Composite RCS building frames integrate reinforced concrete columns with structural steel beams to provide an efficient solution for the design and construction of earthquake-resisting structures. In this paper, an optimization framework is developed for performance-based seismic design of planar RCS moment resisting frames. The objective functions are defined as minimizing the construction cos...
